Unidirectional Carbon fiber cloth is mostly used in construction reinforcement and as sandwich layer between Woven carbon fabric in building hulls, automobile parts, Sporting gear etc.
Major reason for using UD fabric is to gain maximum strength in one given direction.
Due to its light weight, high modulus and resistance to corrossion, it is an ideal replacement for steel in reinforcement of
concrete structures like buildings, bridges etc. UD carbon fabrics are also widely used making blades for wind-turbines.
