UHMWPE UD fabric

UHMWPE UD fabric is a unidirectional construction in which the yarns are not woven but lie parallel to each other. UHMWPE UD fabric  can be divided into soft sheet and hard sheet. The soft sheet is used for light soft vest, and the hard sheet is used for plates, helmets, shields and so on.

UHMWPE Yarn

UHMWPE Yarn has a unique combination of properties. The density is slightly less than 1 g/cm3, so the fiber floats on water. Meanwhile, the tenacity of the fiber is the highest in the world and can be up to 15 times that of a good quality steel. The modulus is very high and second only to that of special carbon fibers grades. Elongation at break is as low as for other high performance fibers, while the energy to break is very high due to  high tenacity. Nowadays, UHMWPE Yarn has been widely used in anti-cut gloves, fishig lines, marine ropes, etc.
